Hollow Lanterns
★★★★★ 4.6
Hollow Lanterns is a mood piece as much as a puzzle game. You arrive in a fog-bound town looking for a missing sister and spend the game poking at objects, talking to strange residents and slowly piecing together what went wrong here.
The puzzles are logical in the best way — I never once reached for a hint, and I never felt talked down to either. Tapping and dragging on the screen suits this kind of game perfectly, and the hand-drawn art is genuinely beautiful.
It's short, maybe five hours, and the ending lingers. If you want something atmospheric to play in bed with headphones on, this is it.
